Een paar weken terug had ik een mooie ervaring en dat moet ik toch even delen en meedelen:
Toen we naar de brug van de Dender liepen, bij de plaats waar Anser, het zwaangansje beschreven in mijn boek, z’n vaste stek heeft, kwam hij nu naar ons toegezwommen aan de zijde van een wit vriendinnetje, een gans met een charmante witte kuif en met een oranje bek en pootjes. Het was niet éénmalig want sindsdien zien we hen steeds samen of een beetje verwijderd van mekaar terwijl ze aan het grondelen zijn.
Het is nu net of mijn in lichaamstaal verteld verhaal, waarin mijn hoop - ik had een vrouwtje voor Anser bedacht! - waarheid geworden is. Enkel... z’n liefje had ik in bruin geschilderd maar het is dus een bruid in het wit en... ik noem haar ‘Weiss’.

Onlangs hoorde ik nog eens de mooie stem van KAMAHL met het zingen van THE ELEPHANT SONG. In 1975 heeft hij in Nederland vijf weken op de eerste plaats van de Top 40 en de Nationale Hitparade gestaan.
De plaat was ook te horen in een tv-documentaire van het Wereld Natuur Fonds. De opname werd toen een groot succes in Europa.

... heb ik nu een weinig veranderd. Voornamelijk in de tweede strofe en 1 woord in het refrein...
Dit met mijn bekommernis voor wat er nu gaande is met de Klimaatproblematiek. Ik maak me zorgen over hoe dit opgelost zal geraken als velen onder ons het moeilijk vinden een paar van hun gewoontes te willen veranderen. Het is ook pijnlijk vast te stellen hoe men met kritiek tekeer gaat tegen Greta Thunberg.
Als we met z’n allen niet reageren, kan het misschien toch eens te laat worden voor onze mooie blauwe planeet...
